Addressing Climate Change

As our climatic conditions are constantly changing, farmers must continuously adapt to every growing season. Farmers may also contribute to and participate in climate change mitigation efforts. Golden Arable Farms is doing its part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions via a variety of measures:

Cover crops: Sustainable agricultural practices can help mitigate the impact of climate change by using soil and plants as natural carbon sinks. One major way that farms can help with climate change is by planting cover crops, which are crops grown to boost soil quality, rather than to sell. Not only do cover crops keep the soil healthy by reducing soil erosion and improving water retention, cover crops also capture carbon in the atmosphere.

Reforestation: Since January 2021, we have planted over 100 trees at our farm, and our goal is to plant 250 trees per year. Additionally, we manage more than 5 hectares of natural wooded or forested lands. These trees and forested areas not only capture carbon but also minimize soil erosion by slowing rain and wind.

Effective tillage practices: Using our cutting-edge tillage tools, we've minimized field passes, overlap, excessive tillage, and fuel consumption. On various soil types, we vary our tillage to suit the needs of our customers.

Energy-efficient facilities: In line with keeping our operations highly efficient, we have implemented a number of measures to conserve energy. In all our storage facilities and farmhouse we use renewable solar energy instead of incandescent lighting which is more efficient, cost-effective, and stable.
